Totton Running Club 10k Race Day Information

We look forward to seeing you at the inaugural Totton Running Club 10k on Sunday 15th September 2024.


Here’s the important race information!


Raffle

With thanks to Garmin who are based in Totton we have a Garmin Vivoactive 5 Running watch (RRP £259.99) that we will be raffling off on the day. Tickets will be £3 a strip, two strips for £5 for 4 strips for £10 – please bring cash to enter the raffle.


The raffle will be drawn at 10:30am.


Race HQ

Race HQ is at Stanleys Own Scout Hut – Romsey Road, Copythorne, Southampton, SO40 2PB


There will be an unmanned area in the scout hall that can be used for bag drop but all bags will be left at the owners risk. We recommend leaving belongings in your cars.

There will be toilets located at the race HQ.

The scouts will be selling tea, coffee and bacon rolls to revive you post race. They will accept cash and card payments.


Race Start


The race starts at 9am


The race briefing will take place at 08:50am


Please note the race briefing will take place at the start line which is approx. a 10minute walk from the parking / finish area so please allow time to get to the start for the briefing.


Numbers

Numbers can be collected before the from Wednesday 11th September up until closing time on Saturday 14th September from Up and Running - 28 The Precinct, Bournemouth Road, Chandlers Ford, Eastleigh, SO53 2GA.


They can be collected from 6pm on Saturday 14th September and in the morning prior to the start of the race from Race HQ at Stanleys Own Scout Hut. Number collection will close at 08:35am. There will be no on the day entries for this event.


Please please please fill your details in on the back of the bib so we have all the details we need in case of emergency. There will be pens at HQ to help with this.


Parking

Parking is limited so please car share where possible. Parking will be at Race HQ in the Scout Hut Field, should this car park fill up you will be directed to one further away from the start so please arrive with plenty of time. The car park will open from 07:00 on race day. No cars will be able to leave the car park until 1015 to ensure runner safety.


Water Station

We encourage runners to think of the environment and bring their own water with them for the end of the race. We will have paper cups of water available for those who wish at the finish. There is a water station on the course on Barrow Hill Road that due to the two laps runners will be able to access twice on route. This will be at approx. 4k and 8k.


Prizes and Results

There will be awards for the 1st, 2nd & 3rd Male and female runners, these will be handed out as you finish the race and some photos taken. Each finisher will receive a medal once they cross the finish line. As long as you provided a valid mobile number at sign up your results will be texted to you once you cross the line. There will also be a QR to scan that will take you to the results.
